Does anyone out there not like the fact that there is not a live collision checker in this program? I have used two programs before we got DD3D and both of them had a live collision checker on them. Quickpen seems to be pushing Navisworks for the collision checker. Thats alright I guess but we would like to see a live collision checker at least with structural steel. Navisworks looks like it would work good if we had to check our duct with other trades, but in this market here around Pittsburgh, we are about the only trade that draws in 3D. So our big item to check collisions with is steel. Just wondering what everyone thinks about this topic!!!!

Totally agree with you.. and no… as of right now there is now real time collision detection in the DD3D prog. Would be a VERY sweet addition to the prog. Navis is a fine prog but it’s a bit steep price wise. Of course I think it would pay for itself in one or two jobs.
