Can anybody tell me if the hrs that are calculated in autobid sheet metal are for a plasma table . we just got a new plasma table, very new to us at this stage ...trying to adjust our shop time based on the table output as opposed to cutting fittings out by hand like we did traditionly...If anybody can tell me the pound per hr there shop can put out in 1 hr would be great thanks .....DC512

This message should go to the AutoBod Sheet MEtal forum. You will have better luck getting an answer over there.

The base hours in QP are a deviation of some national averages more than likely. I would tell you that if you get a SMACNA Cost Refernce book and use that as a base labor you would have a good starting point. The fitting labor there is plasma burned lbs/hr. Don't forget to go into Global>Duct & Fitting Definitions and check/adjust you waste %.

The hours are (allegedly) based off of a % of SMACNA's labor. If you fiddle with the global percentage, you can get it pretty close to SMACNA's.

The labor factors are explained in SMACNA's Cost Reference Manual, which I suggest everyone read. It has a lot of great information and I have used it several times to win arguments with GC's who think it is a SM contractors job to include FD's when not shown...among other things.
